Vice Ganda Allegedly Summoned by MTRCB Due to Eating Chicken McDo Similar to Eating Cake Icing on ‘It’s Showtime

According to a post on X, formerly Twitter, it is said that the MTRCB (Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) has allegedly summoned Vice Ganda, the new endorser of Chicken McDo, due to his way of eating chicken using his mouth, which is said to resemble the controversial way Vice Ganda and his spouse, Ion Perez, ate cake icing on “It’s Showtime.” This act led to the suspension of “It’s Showtime” for 12 days. McDo Philippines is also reportedly summoned for this advertisement.

The post states, “Lala and MTRCB are calling McDonald’s Philippines and Vice Ganda because of his way of eating Chicken McDo using his mouth, which seems to resemble the way he ate icing on ‘It’s Showtime,’ showing that the host truly enjoys the food.”

It’s worth recalling the controversy surrounding Ion Perez and Vice Ganda’s actions on “It’s Showtime” when they indulged in cake icing, which was deemed inappropriate for children, especially as they did it during a segment meant for young audiences.

This also sparked controversy when self-proclaimed motivational speaker Rendon Labador criticized their actions, leading to backlash from Vice Ganda’s fans and the reported removal of his Facebook account. Labador, however, claimed that he only wanted to be the “Voice of the Masses” and was pointing out what he saw as wrong.

Labador faced controversy again when he participated in a raid in Makati, which he live-streamed on Facebook, potentially leading to an investigation due to possible violations of the law.

Vice Ganda on MCDo

As for the post on X, alleging that Vice Ganda was summoned, its veracity remains unconfirmed, and it could potentially be speculative or fabricated. It’s important to keep a critical eye on the content and verify its accuracy, given the diversity of information shared by fellow citizens. We will continue to monitor whether Anima Cristi Fermin’s post on their X social media account holds any credibility.
