The Chinese market has grown hugely, given as being affordable is their first and foremost virtue. But according to some report, China is now facing another crisis.

According to a report, China is facing a Visual health crisis that was caused by smartphones. In a Nomura research report, the prevalence of visual problems in China is far above the global average and is quickly getting worse.

Now, the situation in China is even worse. According to a report, more than half the country’s population, about 11.5 million people, are nearsighted.

Research said that factors contributing to this crisis are the urbanization, sedentary lifestyle, and  the prevalence of smartphones that have taken over China in recent years. In 2012, about 500 million people in China had an uncorrected visual defect.

According to the Nomura research institute report, the prevalence of the crisis had reach 20% in Asia, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and South Korea. Nearsightedness are prevalent to teenagers.
