Several local government units (LGUs) across the Philippines have announced class suspensions for Monday, October 20, 2025, as Typhoon RamilPH continues to bring heavy rains and strong winds to parts of Luzon and the Visayas. The decision aims to ensure the safety of students and teaching personnel amid the ongoing inclement weather conditions.

In Cavite, the local government of Carmona has suspended face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private schools on Monday. The suspension was made as a precaution against possible flooding and road obstructions caused by continuous rainfall. Meanwhile, in the same province, Ternate has also declared a class suspension at all levels in both public and private schools until October 25, 2025, citing concerns not only about the typhoon’s effects but also a rise in influenza-like illnesses among students.
In Rizal Province, the municipality of Montalban (Rodriguez) has likewise announced the suspension of face-to-face classes in all public and private educational institutions. Local officials have urged residents to stay alert for updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) as Typhoon RamilPH continues to move across the country.
Over in the Visayas, Roxas City in Capiz has declared the suspension of face-to-face classes in both public and private schools until October 22, 2025. City officials explained that an extended suspension is necessary due to the lingering effects of heavy rainfall, which has caused minor flooding in several barangays and disrupted transportation services.
Authorities remind the public to remain vigilant as Typhoon RamilPH is expected to continue enhancing the southwest monsoon, bringing rains and gusty winds to various regions. Local disaster risk reduction and management offices are on heightened alert, closely monitoring possible landslides and flooding in low-lying areas.
Parents and students are advised to monitor official announcements from their local government units, the Department of Education (DepEd), and PAGASA for further updates on class resumptions or additional suspensions.
As the country faces another weather disturbance, safety remains the top priority. Residents are encouraged to stay indoors, secure important belongings, and keep emergency kits ready while waiting for the storm to pass.
