YouTube Sensation Balang is now an actor.
YouTube sensation John Phillip Bughaw also known as “Balang” is now an actor as he top-bills in his first-ever teleserye via GMA television series, “Magkaibang Mundo”.
Magkaibang Mundo which also stars with Louise delos Reyes and Juancho Triviño is set to premiere on May 23, 2016.
John Phillip Bughaw came to prominence over his viral dance video which paved his way to instant stardom after he appeared on hit American TV program, “The Ellen Show” which is hosted by Ellen DeGeneres. He even made three-time appearance on the show.
PEP.ph noted in an article that he became an internet sensation and now an actor like his idol McNeal Briguela a.k.a. Aura who stars on ABS-CBN primetime series, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” starring Coco Martin.
“Bawal po sabihin, sabi ng Mama ko po…” Balang said when asked about his talent fee on the television series. “Nakakaipon na po ako. May card [ATM card] na po ako na naipon,” he added.
The YouTube star-turned-actor hails from Bacoor, Cavite.
Asked about Ellen DeGeneres, “Hindi ko po maintindihan kasi Inglesera siya. Mabait po siya sa akin,” he said.
In his third appearance on the show, Balang dance to the beat of Justin Bieber’s hit single, “Sorry”. His performance on Ellen Show generated more than 3 million views as of posting.
Balang said that he wasn’t able to meet the Canadian singer. “Hindi po, pero sabi niya, ‘Kills it,’ nang mapanood niya ang video ko,” he explained.
