HARD DANCE MUSIC is not a typical EDM genre as compared to Electro House, Bigroom and Progressive House genres. What makes this genre unique?

Hard dance music (HDM) usually has a minimum of 150BPM (beats per minute) and it has its subgenres. These are:

Euphoric Hardstyle

This genre combines energy with epic hard sounds and catchy melodies. It is also known as Mainstream Hardstyle and it hits the most popular charts in some countries in the world. DJs like Headhunterz, Wildstylez, Project One, Code Black, Demi Kanon, Wasted Penguinz, Coone, Da Tweekaz and Brennan Heart produce this kind of genre.

Rawstyle

It has less melodic breaks than Euphoric Hardstyle, but it has more raw sounds and screeches. DJs like Warface, D-Sturb, Radical Redemption, Myst and Sub Zero Project produce this kind of genre.

Happy Hardcore

It is a genre of hard dance typified by a very fast tempo (usually around 160–190 BPM) characterized by a 4/4 beat “happy” sounds. It’s also called as UK Hardcore. DJs like Darren Styles, Technikore and Gammer produce this kind of genre.

Hardcore

This genre has the same BPM as Happy Hardcore, but the difference is that it characterized by “violent” sounds. It can sometimes describe as “faster version of Rawstyle”. DJs like Angerfist and Destructive Tendencies produce this genre.

Frenchcore

This genre has the fastest BPM as it has a minimum of 200 BPM. It characterized as “Euphoric Hardcore” or “a Hard Techno with faster and harder kicks”. DJs like Sefa and Dr. Peacock produce this genre.

Labels like Q-dance, Dirty Workz, Minus is More are releasing music with these genres.

You can either hate it or love it, but these genres have completely changed the game to this generation.
