Three Filipino designers stunned fashion enthusiast during the London Fashion Week through their collection made of indigenous materials.
Filipino designers captured the attention of fashion enthusiasts during the recently concluded London Fashion week.
Once again, Filipinos proved to the whole world that the brown race can make it big internationally in the world of fashion.
Three of the designers from the Philippines showed that they can compete to other designers around the globe, based on the article published in kami.com.ph.
What made their collections stand out was the fact that every piece was made from indigenous materials such as abaca, abel weaves, Mindanao silk and T’nalak.
Filipino designers Che Arunjuez, Mimi Parrel Pimentel and Aandrei David showcased their creations in the international fashion scene.
During the fashion show in London, Pimental featured 20 unique designs from his collection of barong and each one has detailed T’nalak embroidery. Aside from that, the Pinoy designer also showcased the Mindanao silk.
Aandrei David stunned the fashion enthusiast from other countries with his formal wear collection. He tagged his collection as “modern Filipina meets Victorian” and indeed it embodied the state of Filipinas in this modern times.
On the other hand, since Che Arunjuez was unable to be in London for the said fashion week, she was represented at the show.
The said international fashion show was not the only opportunity that Filipino designers have to showcase their unique creation. Their collections which were made from indigenous material will also be featured in Melbourne Fashion Festival.
On that upcoming event, it was said that the Kandama collection, the one that will feature the fashion made by Ifugaos, is among the proud startups of Pinoy fashion designers, based on the article.
There are already internationally acclaimed fashion designers who have Filipino blood such as Dubai-based Michael Cinco and Monique Lhuillier.
