Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) has raised objections for its unsafe siting.
President Rodrigo Duterte, last week has given his go signal to the revival of the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP).
This was confirmed by the Geologist Kelvin Rodolfo. He said that the green light was given by the President to the revival of the mothballed 40-year-old BNPP in Morong, Bataan province.
The revival of the mothballed Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) has raised objections because of its unsafe siting.
According to a recent news report of Inquirer.net, the BNPP sits on an active earthquake fault in Pampanga province runs through Natib volcano.
The BNPP sits on Napot Point on the southwest foot slope of Mt. Natib, an andesitic to dacitic stratovolcano just 30 kms south of Mt. Pinatubo.
Geologist Kelvin Rodolfo said that the unsafe siting of the mothballed Bataan Nuclear Power Plant is the reason “beyond a doubt” for the Duterte administration to stop its plan to activate the BNPP.
