The government of Belgium eyes to transfer the royal visit from the Philippines to another country.
BRUSSELS, Belgium – The government of Belgium is reconsidering the royal visit to the Philippines which is originally scheduled on May 2017.
The supposed cancellation of the royal visit is following the controversial remarks of Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte comparing himself to the Nazi leader, Adolf Hitler, who ordered genocide of six million Jews.
Duterte said that if Hitler could order genocide during the Holocaust, he would also gladly annihilate three million drug addicts in the Philippines.
According to Belgium State Secretary for External Trade Cecil Jodogne, it would be hard to pursue with the royal visit because of some circumstances.
Jodogne called for an emergency meeting to discuss if the royal visit to the Philippines will be pursued or redirect it to another country.
