BELLO – Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III expressed that a medical bulletin on the condition of Pres. Rodrigo ‘Digong’ Duterte is not necessary.
Pres. Duterte is already 71 years old when he ran for the highest position in the country. Undeniably, a big part of the populace really hoped for the ‘change’ promised by the former Mayor of Davao City.
In the 2016 presidential election, the then-Mayor of Davao City secured the presidency through a landslide victory against four other prominent and strong bets in the presidential race.
He then started his campaign against illegal drugs which is one of the prime targets of his administration. Pres. Duterte also started his official visits to some nations. Recently, the 71-year-old President flew to Cambodia.
Based on a previous news report, Pres. Duterte spoke before the crowd in the capital of Cambodia and expressed uncertainty on whether he will still be around or not by the end of his term as President.
He also expressed that he realized that the position is not what he needs considering his age. Nevertheless, the 71-year-old President affirmed that he has no regrets about it.
He also made mention about his migraine, his issues in spine, and his Buerger’s disease. In a recent news report in Inquirer, it is stated that Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III expressed that there is no need for a medical bulletin on the condition of the President.
Bello said that the there could only be doubts if the President is going on leave because ‘he cannot do his job anymore’.
“He is superhealthy. I don’t understand where he gets his energy,” the Labor Secretary said referring to Pres. Duterte.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the things done by the 71-year-old President are the things that cannot be done by a person who is sick.
