The CBCP has released its official statement on the verdict of the Supreme Court regarding Marcos burial issue.
CBCP – The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines has released its official statement on the decision of the Supreme Court to allow the burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at Libingan ng mga Bayani.
The Marcos burial issue has been alive for decades already. The points on the side of the pro-Marcos kept going stronger through the years – same with the firm stand of those who are against a hero’s burial for the late dictator.
Way back during the election campaign, then Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who made a landslide victory on the presidential election has been vocal of his stand to allow a hero’s burial for the late dictator in case he wins the presidency.
After assuming the highest post, Pres. Duterte gave a go signal for the preparation of the burial of former Pres. Marcos in the resting grounds for heroes and presidents.
