De Lima Denies Receiving ‘Protection Money’ From Kerwin Espinosa

Drug lord Kerwin Espinosa earlier claimed that he gave P8 million Senator Leila de Lima as protection money.

Philippine Senator Leila de Lima strongly denied receiving a single centavo, directly or indirectly, from suspected bigtime drug lord in Eastern Visayas, Rolando “Kerwin” Espinosa Jr.

This is equally opposite to what Espinosa had told earlier that he had given the lady solon P8 million as protection money when she was still secretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ).

When asked on whether or not she had received the said amount in exchange of protection, De Lima replied: “Oh my goodness gracious!”.

“I am telling you, I have not received a single centavo from Kerwin Espinosa whether directly or indirectly in any instance in the same manner that I have not received any single centavo from the so-called drug lords, drug convicts na nagtestify sa (who testified in the) House inquiry”.

De Lima said all the allegations against her are huge lies.

De Lima also reacted for linking the allegations that she received drug money from Espinosa to Ronnie Dayan, her former driver and body, to whom she became very close with.
