DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III shares updates on regularization of employees.
DOLE SECRETARY – The Department of Labor and Employment confirmed the number of employees that were regularized so far.
A recent news report entailed about the progress in terms of employment under the Duterte Administration. Based on the report, 10, 532 employees were regularized under the new administration in its pursuit to abolish ‘endo’ or ‘end of contract’ in the country.
Also stated in the report, the Labor Secretary, Silvestre Bello III, said, “This means that we are on track in our objective to reduce illegitimate contractualization practices and ‘endo’ by 50% by the end of 2016, and abolishing it by 2017.”
Tracing back the move to abolish ‘endo’ in the Philippines, it was Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte who has been very vocal that aside from the elimination of the drug trade in the country, putting an end to ‘endo’ is one of his administration’s prime focuses.
