Office of the Ombudsman has finally issue a dismissal order from public service of Senator Joel Villanueva after finding him guilty.

Ombudsman find him liable for the supposed misuse of P10 million of his congressional Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).

According to a report, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales has ordered the dismissal from service of Senator Joel Villanueva after finding him guilty of grave misconduct, serious dishonesty and conduct prejudicial to the interest of service.

The dismissal order of Senator Villanueva was approved after the Ombudsman found him guilty.

But according to a recent news report of ABS-CBN news, Senate President Pro Tempore Franklin Drilon explained that the Ombudsman has no jurisdiction over senators and congressmen, as stated in the Constitution and the Ombudsman Law.

Drillon confirmed this in a radio DZMM interview. Wherein he pointed out that the ombudsman issue should still be weighed by the judiciary.
