Duterte emphasized that he is now a president and must be criticized in an appropriate manner.
President Rodrigo Duterte told his critics that he could not just be criticized deliberately, now that he is the chief executive officer of the Philippines.
The president made this pronouncement before the members of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) during the 48th anniversary of the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing at Villamor Airbase in Pasay City on Tuesday, September 13.
Duterte said that he was criticized when he was still a mayor in Davao City and especially now that he is now a president which makes him a very good subject to criticisms.
But he reiterated that times has changed he now the highest official of the country so he must be criticized in a more appropriate manner.
Duterte said, if critics want to lecture him, it must not be done publicly.
These scrutiny and criticisms being made public are the same reasons that President Duterte cited to be the reason why he is angry of United States Pres. Barack Obama and United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
Obama and Ban previously made statements slamming Duterte for the human rights violations in the course of the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
