Duterte warned that Sereno creates the anarchy that she fears would prevail under his watch.
Anarchy is being promoted by Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno in her previous statement.
President Rodrido Duterte slammed Chief Justice Sereno in connection to the government’s aggressive campaign against illegal drugs, but the chief executive officer’s voice came with a tone of respect this time.
Duterte made the announcement as he delivered his speech after being invited as special guest in the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) in Davao City on Friday night.
But unlike in his previous statement, Duterte has toned down and accompanied his words with full respect towards Chief Justice Sereno.
According to the president, Sereno creates the anarchy that she fears would prevail under his six-year presidency when she made an appeal to persons linked to illegal drugs not to surrender in the absence of a duly issued warrant of arrest.
“Your statement is a very dangerous statement, you will promote anarchy the things that you really fear. There is no anarchy under my watch”, said Duterte as he spoke to the men and women of the Eastmincom.
“Madame Chief Justice, you are again wrong when you say, ‘Do not allow yourself to be arrested if there is no warrant’. You are adding the numbers of killed there”.
Shall the drug personalities abide by the chief justice’s advise, Duterte warned that the criminals would have the confidence to go on with their illegal drug trade and use, show off their guns and prohibited chemicals, because they are guaranteed of their freedom until a warrant of arrest would be issued and be served to them before arrest.
But unlike in his previous statement, Duterte has toned down and accompanied his words with full respect towards Chief Justice Sereno.
Duterte’s latest pronouncements rooted from Sereno’s message that the Judiciary has a crucial role in guarding the country against anarchy because of the spate of killings and arrests to the suspected drug pushers, in the absence of due process of law.
