Edgar Matobato files complaint against President Duterte at Ombudsman.
Edgar Matobato, a self-confessed Davao Death Squad member (DDS), formally filed a complaint before the Ombudsman against President Rodrigo Duterte.
In a recent news report of GMA news, Matobato accused the President of committing genocide and crimes against humanity that violates the Republic Act No. 9745 or the Anti-Torture Act, and violations of R.A. No. 9851, or the Philippine Act on Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide, and Other Crimes Against Humanity.
A witness presented by Leila de Lima at the Senate has formally filed complaint before the Ombudsman against the President Rodrigo Duterte and his son, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa and 25 for the alleged crimes of murder, torture and kidnapping.

Reports said that Matobato filed his complaint-affidavit before the Office of the Ombudsman on Friday morning, December 9, through his lawyer, Jude Sabio.
In his affidavit, Matobato stated that the DDS are responsible for the killings in Davao City. He revealed that the group’s composed of of some local policemen and civilians, which main targets were robbers, rapists and other suspected criminals in Davao.
Furthermore, Matobato also claimed that DDS was established by President Duterte when he was the Davao City Mayor.

The Philippine President has repeatedly denied the accusation of Matobato of his involvement in the Davao Death Squad and his direct links to killings in his city.
