A report in New York Times said that Facebook worked on a special software to accommodate China’s censorship demands.
A report in the New York Times revealed that social media giant, Facebook, worked on a special software in order to accommodate the censorship demand of the rising world superpower, China.
Although Facebook refused to give any confirmation or denial on the existence of the software, it released a statement saying that it was “spending time understanding and learning more” about China.
A spokesperson said that there is yet no decisions made about the approach of the company.
A group campaigning for online privacy, Electronic Frontier Foundation (EEF), said in an interview with BBC that the Facebook project is “extremely disturbing”.
