It was FBI Director Comey who dropped the bomb, stirring doubts about Clinton mishandling classified information, but it was also him who cleared her from the controversy.
A couple of days before the general election in the United States of America (USA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) cleared the name of Democratic standard bearer Hillary Clinton from the classified information mishandling issue.
FBI Director James Comey told the US Congress on Sunday that the agency has not changed its opinion that Clinton should not face any criminal charges after a review of new emails.
Comey’s new letter to Congressional committee chairman wrote: “Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July”.
The FBI director dropped a bombshell on the presidential race last October when he wrote the Congress saying that the agency had discovered emails in a separate investigation that could be connected to the now-closed probe of whether Clinton mishandled classified information.
