Four high profile inmates will be subjected to investigation in connection to the alleged riot inside the National Penitentiary.
Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II confirmed that they have transferred to Campo Crame in Quezon city the four high profile inmates who were involved in the alleged riot inside the Building 14 of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) last September 28, Wednesday morning.
According to Sec. Aguirre, included to the four high profile inmates who were brought to the Camp Crame were former Police Chief Insp. Clarence Dongail, Tomas Doniña, Edgar Cinco and Ruben Tiu, for the conduct of an investigation.
The Cabinet member said that he allowed the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to bring the four high profile inmates to the headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) because of the “very tense” situation inside the Bilibid which is not very conducive for the investigation.
“Pinayagan kong dalhin sa CIDG at doon imbestigahan sapagkat very tense daw sa loob ng Bilibid ‘pag doon nag-iimbestiga” Aguirre said.
(I warranted the transfer to the CIDG and the investigation be conducted there because it was reportedly very tense inside the Bilibid shall the investigation be done there.)
