Four officials of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) have been relieved pending an investigation over an alleged corruption.
Aside from always being vocal on his firm stand against illegal drugs, Pres. Rodrigo ‘Digong’ Duterte has also been very vocal on how he hates corruption most especially in the government.
He has always promoted the kind of service that the people should be given by the officials most especially in the government agencies. Since Pres. Duterte has assumed the highest post in the land, undeniably, a lot of changes were implemented.
Fast and just transactions were always promoted. Recently, corruption issues are being addressed to and investigations and probes are ongoing regarding such cases. Based on a recent news report in The Philippine Star, four officials of LTFRB were relieved pending an investigation over an alleged corruption.
According to the report, there were several ways by which the LTFRB officials have allegedly get past a 2003 moratorium on the releasing of new transport franchises in Metro Manila.
Some of the ways according to the news report were: expired transport franchises were revived and some were sold more than once or transport franchises were being transferred.
The report also made mention that Pres. Duterte announced that the number of government officials that were removed from their post for corruption will not fall below 92 and most of them were from Land Transportation Office (LTO) and LTFRB.
The LTFRB officials who were relieved pending an investigation were led by the ex-regional director for the National Capital Region (NCR) according to the report.
The 71-year-old President encouraged the citizenry to do their part in promoting a clean government during the awarding ceremony of The Outstanding Young Men and Women (TOYM) 2016 wherein he gave a speech.
