The executive order on Freedom of Information (FOI)signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will be in effect starting November 25.
The Freedom of Information is granting the public an access to the information regarding the transactions of the government and the operations in the executive branch.
According to Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, the government agencies are now preparing to impose the freedom of information order which was signed by the President last July 23.
He admitted that this is a new task for the government workers but as they continue to learn the ropes, they “will be able to craft mechanism that may further improve efficiency” because the FOI is directed to promote transparency toward a big leap for the progress of the country.
