Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian urges Pres. Rodrigo Duterte on call for mandatory registration of subscriber identity module cards.
GATCHALIAN – In lieu of the recent happenings, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian urges Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to act on mandatory subscriber identity module (sim) card registration.
A recent news report in Manila Bulletin stated that Sen. Gatchalian is urging the President on the promulgation of mandatory sim card registration to help control text messages that have no veracity.
Based on the report, Sen. Gatchalian considers the recent happening in Davao City and prank texts that are widespread right after the incident. With this, Sen. Gatchalian made emphasis on the timeliness of Senate Bill 203 or the ‘Sim Card Registration Act’.
Also mentioned in the said news report is the the emphasis that the Senator made on the necessity of the bill considering that the Philippines now is in the State of National Emergency.
