Businessman and Social Media Influencer, Henry Wang, allegedly humiliated by ground crew in PAL flight after refusing to transfer seat.
HENRY WANG- An entrepreneur and a renowned social media influencer, Henry Wang, expressed his disappointment through a Facebook post after allegedly having experienced a bad customer service on his flight from Manila to San Francisco via Philippine Airlines (PAL).
In his Facebook post, Wang emphasized that he originally booked business class but had to rebook his previous flight due to a medical emergency.
He stated that prior to the said flight, he spoke to Rey Garcia, the airlines’ general manager who assisted him with the changes.
Wang claimed to be suffering from a back problem and a slipped disc and requested to be seated in a row with more legroom and was eager to pay extra charges. He claimed he was only billed a 200$ (P10, 000.00) for re-booking fee and was assigned on seat 31C.
Based on his post, when he was already seated on the plane, an airline crew member approached him and demanded to check his boarding pass. The confrontation caused a commotion with all the other passengers when the ground crew humiliated Wang and asked in a loud voice whether or not he paid for his seat.
“He asked me did you pay for this? In a loud voice with everyone looking at me as if I stole something. I’m like yes, or else I wouldn’t have received my boarding pass,” Wang wrote.
After the scene, Wang was asked to move to another seat because a couple from the back row apparently wanted to sit together. He was told that he would be removed from the flight if he fails to comply.
Based on his post, he then asked the staff to call the general manager for confirmation, but failed to do so because of bad call reception. Wang, facing an extreme degree of embarrassment, gave in and moved to a seat farther back.
“Being terrified and humiliated in a foreign country, I left my seat,” he further wrote.
Based on the post, Wang was moved to seat 41H but claimed that the seat had a menstruation stain on it. The lady in front of him, Leilani Mercado Saborrido, said that she was actually supposed to sit there but was moved to 40H since the couple wanted to sit together but was unsatisfied and asked to move again.
The couple did give permission to Wang to take their photos as they sat his seat but he preferred to blur their faces out for privacy.
