Import Ban On Philippine Bananas To China: Now Lifted!

The import ban on Philippine Bananas to China has now been lifted after a thorough inspection on the corrective measures adapted.

IMPORT BAN – China will now resume the permission of importing bananas from the Philippines after sending its inspection team in the country.

A recent news report entailed the tracing back on the banning of the import of Philippine bananas of China. Based on it, the banning of the said fruit rooted when the last imports in Shenzen were issued a notification of non-compliance by the Administration of Quality Supervision.

The non-compliance refers to the detection of Dysmicoccus neobrevipes, a pest, in the bananas by NKM Import/Export Inc. to Dalian Kawoo Import and Export Co. Ltd.

Another factor that contributed to the banning is the detection of carbendazim level of 0.199 mg/kg in excess of the maximum residue level of 0.1 mg/kg in the banana shipment of Sumifru to Shenzen Everglory Trading Co. Ltd.
