The Duterte administration has promised to increase the allowance of PNP and AFP members but it would not be implemented any sooner.
The increase in combat allowance of the personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) promised by President Rodrigo Duterte will not be implemented within year 2017.
It is because the proposed budget for next year does not include any allocation for the increase in combat allowance of policemen and soldiers.
This is according to the disclosure of Camarines Sur Congressman Rolando Andaya Jr., who is a Deputy Speaker and former chairman of the House committee on Appropriations.
Andaya quickly added that it is not yet too late for the House of Representatives to include the required P12 billion budget for the increase in combat incentive of uniformed personnel next year.
According to Cong. Andaya, the chamber could not propose for the inclusion of the fund during the bicameral conference on budget, after the Senate approves its version of the spending bill of the government.
