The Philippines and China will sign a $13.5 billion worth of investments during President Rodrigo Duterte’s state visit in Beijing.
According to Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez said during a business forum on October 30, Thursday, that the deals will be signed anytime during Duterte’s visit this week.
The business forum was joined by President Duterte himself and various officials from the Philippines and China.
The forum was held after Duterte’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping who hailed the Philippines’ chief executive as being of “milestone significance”.
Aside from investments deals, on early Thursday, the leaders saw the inking of agreements that have to do with financing of infrastructure projects, boosting trade and tourism, lifting export restrictions and other issues.
