According to Senator Lacson, the names of the operatives who received payola were included in the affidavit of Kerwin Espinosa submitted to him.
Senator Panfilo Lacson revealed that the operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) who raided and killed Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa regulary received payola from the chief executive’s son, Kerwin.
According to Lacson, this is based on the draft affidavit of Kerwin, or Rolando Espinosa Jr., a copy of which is submitted to him as chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, which is conducting an inquiry on Tuesday morning, to look into the mayor’s killing.
Lacson disclosed that regional CIDG operatives, led by Police Supt. Marvin Marcos, were included in the personalities named by Kerwin as among the members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to whom he was paying off with proceeds from his drug trade.
