Lacson On Duterte: ‘He should say what really is his ailment’

Sen. Lacson spoke on the issue regarding the health of Pres. Duterte.

LACSON – Sen. Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson expressed his side on the matter regarding the health condition of Pres. Rodrigo ‘Digong’ Duterte.

Pres. Duterte is already 71 years old when he became President of the Philippines. Undeniably, a hug part of the populace looked up to his capacity despite the fact that he is already in his old age.

He secured the highest post in the country in a presidential race against four other presidential candidates – the late Miriam Defensor-Santiago, former Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay, former Interior Sec. Mar Roxas, and Sen. Grace Poe.

After winning in a landslide victory, Pres. Duterte then started his campaign against illegal drugs in the Philippines. He has always been loud when it comes to giving warnings to illegal drug users, pushers, and protectors.

Undeniably, a lot of killings followed after the campaign has started. It led to an issue of an alleged extrajudicial killings happening in the Philippines which has also alarmed the other foreign countries.

On the other side, many drug users and pushers have surrendered to the police authorities. In fact, a mega drug rehabilitation facility has recently been opened to cater drug patients and aid them in their reformation.

In the previous months, Pres. Duterte has also visited some neighboring countries. He has been to Indonesia, Japan, China, and many other nations. Recently, news reports broke in entailing that the President visited Cambodia.

Based on a previous news report, Pres. Duterte spoke before the cheering crowd in the capital of Cambodia and expressed uncertainty on whether he will still be around at the end of his six-year term as President.

Furthermore, he also disclosed that he has found out lately that the presidency is not what is necessary for his age. Nevertheless, he expressed no sign of regrets about it.

In a recent news report in Inquirer, it is stated that Sen. Lacson expressed that the 71-year-old President should disclose his health condition to the public.

He also expressed that Pres. Duterte’s statements generates ‘uncertainty’ although the 1987 Philippine Constitution entails clear rules on succession.

“What it appears like is that he is giving hints… If he is sick, then he should say what really is his ailment,” Sen. Lacson said according to the report.

The Senator also told the news media people that the health of the President is a ‘national concern’ and that a medical record should go along with the disclosure.
