Not only in the stadiums where the sporting events will be played shall the liquor ban be imposed because it shall be in effect to all public places.

While the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is a bit too far to be discussed as of the moment, one things is for sure, that liquor ban will be imposed all throughout the game.

The implementation of the liquor ban was confirmed by Al-Thawali, secretary general of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy of Qatar.

He clarified that the liquor ban will not only be implemented in stadiums where the sporting events will be held but also on the streets and all public places of Qatar.

Al-Thawali explained that under the laws of Qatar, the consumption of intoxicating beverages is not prohibited but doing so in public and bringing in of such in their country is a taboo.

He also clarified that liquor ban is only in effect in places near the playing venues and for the comfort and ease of the visitors, Qatar had designated places for them to prime.

The liquor ban will be implemented because the Qatari authorities fear that the intoxication among fans will have an untoward effect to the games and the security measures to be implemented in the playing venues.

But the measure is worrying the organizers of the 2022 World Cup, saying it might cripple the income of the sponsors of FIFA.

This is apart from the previous concern on the climate of Qatar that might also affect the games. The tiny country in the Arabian Peninsula is having as one of its concerns the manner of hosting the event when their summer climate can reach daily highs of 42 degrees Celsius, which is equivalent to 108 Fahrenheit.

The organizers estimate an approximately one million fans from all over the world would gather to Qatar to witness the 2022 World Cup.
