Majority Of Filipinos Trust United States, Opposite Feeling Towards China

As Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte heads to Beijing, SWS released its survey saying that most Filipinos trust US and not China.

Most of the Filipino people trust the United States of America but have a negative outlook towards China, according to the survey of Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The SWS survey result which was released on October 18, Tuesday, showed that 76 percent of adult Filipinos have “must trust” for the US while 13 percent are undecided and 11 percent have “little trust”.

According to the result, most of the Filipinos gave the Americans a “very good” net trust rating of +66.

The poll was conducted from September 24 to 27, 2016 among 1,200 adult Filipinos nationwide with a margin of error of “plus or minus three percent”.

The result was released as President Rodrigo Roa Duterte heads to Beijing for his state visit of four days.

If the Filipinos have a good outlook towards its long-time ally, it has a negative outlook toward its neighbor China.
