The Malacañan Palace expressed its confidence that Senator Richard Gordon will deliver an excellent job after being chosen by his fellow senators as the new chairman of the Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights.
Gordon’s election followed after Senator Leila de Lima’s ouster from chairmanship by effect of neophyte Sen. Manny Pacquiao’s motion to declare the said committee, from chairmanship to membership.
According to Communications Sec. Martin Andanar, Sen. Gordon has a good reputation after serving 12 years as a lawmaker in the House of Senate.
Gordon also delivered good performance as a mayor of Olongapo City and chairman of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).
