The Veloso family will try to plead to the president despite the issue that Duterte gave a ‘go signal’ to Mary Jane’s execution.
The family of the Mary Jane Veloso, whose fate is on the line of execution by the Indonesian authorities, will plead and ask President Rodrigo Duterte to save the life of the Filipina drug convict.
According to Celia Veloso, Mary Jane’s mother, although they do not believe totally on the reports that the execution will push through after Duterte’s bilateral meeting with Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, they will not take chances and will plead to the president.
Mrs. Veloso trusts the proclamation of the Malacañan Palace that Duterte did not give a “go ahead” signal to Widodo to pursue with the execution of her daughter.
“Follow your laws, we will not interfere”, said Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella quoting Duterte’s words to Widodo during their bilateral meeting on his (Duterte’s) first state visit in Indonesia last week.
