Mt. Pulag Case Dismissed Within 24 Hours Due to ??

Mt. Pulag case dismissed within 24 hours as the environment department to bring the case to the Supreme Court. Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) were disappointed regarding the dismissal of the case.

Cordillera Director Ralph Pablo of (DENR) questioned the quick decision of Assistant Prosecutor Sheryl Anne Pacad Cabantac of Benguet. The Deputy Provincial Prosecutor Andres Gondayao approved the dismissal unexpectedly.

Last week at Mt. Pulag, DENR personnel caught persons desolating some areas of the mountain. The alleged violators will be prosecuted in the court on July 20. The suspects were named Sina Taynan, Cleia Lamsis, and Eva Palad–Og.

Presidential Decree 705 will be sentenced to those who violate the law for destroying the forest in the mountain using kaingin system. Due to lack of evidence and causes Assistant Prosecutor Paoad-Cabantac abandoned the case.
