Myanmar topped the Charities Aid Foundation World Giving Index which measures the percentage of people in each country who donated money, volunteered or helped a stranger in the previous month.
This is the third time that Myanmar topped all countries to being the most generous in the whole world.
Myanmar led the “generosity test”, leaving the superpower United States of America (USA) in number two for two consecutive years. Both countries shared the top honors when the population of Myanmar of about 56 million is less than one-fifth that of the US.
According to the research of Charities Aid Foundation World Giving Index, 91 percent of the people of Myanmar gave money to charity in the past year, 62 percent were found to have helped a stranger, and 55 percent said that they had volunteered.
