Honasan is set to face two counts of graft case for violations of Section 3(e) of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
Senator Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan and nine others are facing two counts of graft over the alleged Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam.
On Monday, September 26, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales has ordered the filing of double counts of graft against Honasan for violations of Section 3(e) of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
In the in-depth investigation of the Office of the Ombudsman, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) in April 2012 released P30 million of the PDAF, otherwise known as the pork barrel, of Senator Honasan to the National Council of Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) as the implementing agency.
The fund was meant to bankroll the small and medium enterprises or livelihood projects for Filipino Muslims in communities in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Zambales.
It was found out, by aid of documents, that Senator Honasan in June 2012 endorsed the non-government organization (NGO) Focus Development Goals Foundation, Inc. as partner of NCMF, but did not comply with the procurement regulations of the country.
