OPM President Ogie Alcasid Steps Down After Six Year

In “Tonight with Boy Abunda” the actor, singer, and composer Ogie Alcasid announced that he is stepping down as the president of the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM) on Friday (August 19, 2016).

He said I’m standing as the leader of OPM for six years. I gave up a lot of time, especially with my family as he told the Boy Abunda, TV host. The singer has a son named Nate Alcasid and two daughters from her ex-wife Michelle van Eimeren, former Miss Australia in 1994.

Ogie is now happily married with his wife Regine Velasquez, the “Asia’s Songbird”. He said that it’s time to pass the leadership to someone new in this generation of singers.
