Sec. Andanar argued that not all products that are China-made are substandard as President Duterte plans to buy arms from the Communist country.
The compound word China-made has made a reputation of being substandard, imitated and fake but the Malacañan Palace tries to drive the stigma away as the Philippines’ chief executive officer plans to buy armaments from its Communist neighbor.
Presidential Communications Office Secretary Martin Andanar said on Thursday that not all things that are made in China are defective and argued that some of the country’s products are of excellent quality.
Andanar said that many items that are being used by Filipinos are made in China and they have had no problems with their quality.
“For me , it depends on the product. Maybe the China-made products that the President mentioned were the one that were defective”, Sec. Andanar said in a press conference.
Not many Filipinos have forgotten Duterte’s pronouncements at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Medical Center last month where he said that firearms sourced from China were substandard or could have been sabotaged.
