Palace Pleased with ‘Friendly Agreement’ Between PH, China Over Panatag Shoal

The Palace states its side on the agreement between two countries over the disputed Panatag Shoal.

PALACE STATES – Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella revealed the side of the Palace on the ‘friendly agreement’ between PH and China over the Panatag Shoal.

The issue over the ownership of Panatag Shoal or internationally known as the Scarborough Shoal has not yet reached its end. Despite the recent improvement that Filipino fishermen now are allowed to access the disputed island, a lot of question marks are left hanging on the surface.

The permission to fish granted by China to Filipino fishermen followed the official state visit of Philippine Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte to Beijing.

Some have seen the permission as a sign of warmer ties while others see it as sign indicating China’s act of ownership over the disputed island.
