Pope Francis Called A Pizza Party For St. Teresa

About 1,500 homeless were called to join the pizza party to celebrate St. Teresa by Pope Francis.

Pope Francis caught all the attention when he called for a pizza party after the canonization of Blessed Mother Teresa on Sunday, September 4.

The event was held in Vatican on Sunday afternoon (Sunday night, Philippine time) where an approximately 1,500 street people and homeless were invited for the pizza lunch.

Pictures and video show Pope Francis’ mingling with the street people where many came from Sisters of Charity of St. Teresa.

They also attended in the canonization ceremony where they were given priority in the seats of honour.

“For the honour of the Blessed Trinity… we declare and define Blessed Teresa of Calcutta to be a Saint and we enroll her among the Saints, decreeing that she is to be venerated as such by the whole Church”, declared by the 79-year-old pontiff in Latin.

Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims went to Rome for the historic canonization of Blessed Mother Teresa.

Many of them came from the United States, Albania where Mother Teresa was born, also from Europe, Israel and many other countries.

But aside from Rome, many of the pilgrims also visited Indian where Mother Teresa had lived.
