Scientist Thomas Platt has recently decided to name a parasitic flatworm after the head of the United States, Pres. Barack Obama.
In a recent news report in Inquirer, a biology professor at St. Mary’s College in Indiana, Thomas Platt, named a tiny parasitic flatworm Baracktrema obamai – after the President of US.
Thomas Platt, a newly-retired bio professor, said that it is an honor and not an insult based on the released report.
The said specie that was named after the U.S. President is a flatworm in the fluid running in the veins of the turtle. It is also said to be a parasite as mentioned in the report.
