A Chinese national failed to pass through the Philippines’ gateway to the world after being intercepted by the Bureau of Customs.
A Chinese national was arrested by the operatives from the Bureau of Customs (BoC) on August 31, Wednesday, after different kinds of contraband, including skimming devices, were confiscated from him at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2.
Customs Enforcement Division Deputy Commissioner Arnel Alcaraz confirmed that the foreigner was named Hu Hong Cheng.
Confiscated from Hu’s possession were 40 boxes containing of skimming devices, a large number of credit cards believed to be stolen, Chinese documents and devices used to tamper documents.
The BoC will ask the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to aid them in a thorough investigation as to the identity of the syndicate behind the arrested Chinese.
In line with the, Customs shall talk with the officials in the Chinese Embassy to help them locate the cohorts of the suspect.
