Senator Richard Gordon said that Trillanes and De Lima are behind Matobato complaint against Duterte.
Senator Richard Gordon said that Sen. Trillanes and De Lima are the People behind Matobato complaint against President Rodrigo Duterte.
Edgar Matobato has recently asked the Office of Ombudsman to investigate President Duterte and several others over their alleged involvement in vigilante killings.
Edgar Matobato, a self-confessed Davao Death Squad member (DDS), formally filed a complaint-affidavit before the Office of the Ombudsman on Friday morning, December 9, through his lawyer, Jude Sabio.
In the affidavit of Matobato, he revealed that the DDS was established by President Duterte when he was the Davao City Mayor.
In a recent news report of GMA news, Senator Richard Gordon said in a Balitanghali interview that he sees the involvement of Senators Antonio Trillanes IV and Leila de Lima in the complaint filed by Matobato against Duterte.
“Nasa likod niyan si Trillanes tsaka si De Lima eh,” Senator Richard Gordon said.
Gordon explained in an interview that Senator De Lima had a “kapit na patalim” style, after being accused of her involvement in the illegal drug trade.
“Bakit natin paniniwalaan ‘yan? Kaya kumakapit na sa patalim itong si Senator De Lima, sa tingin ko. I don’t want to be personal pero marami siyang ipapaliwanang eh,” Gordon said.
Gordon confirmed he doubt that the complaints of Matobato ‘will not prosper.’ Wherein the senator recalled the earlier testimonies of Matobato before the Senate committee.
“It will go against him. Sa palagay ko, kung ‘yun ang mga sinabi niyan, hindi magpo-prosper ‘yan,” he said.
Matobato accused the President of committing genocide and crimes against humanity that violates the Republic Act No. 9745 or the Anti-Torture Act, and violations of R.A. No. 9851, or the Philippine Act on Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide, and Other Crimes Against Humanity.
Matobato filed the complaint before the Ombudsman against the President Rodrigo Duterte and his son, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa and 25 for the alleged crimes of murder, torture and kidnapping.
