Trump Has Chosen Presidency Over His Business Empire

President-elect Donald Trump had earlier been subjected to question as to which he would choose – presidency or business – to avoid conflict of interest.

WASHINGTON, United States – American President-elect Donald Trump has finally chosen between his presidency and his business to avoid conflict of interest while he serves in the White House.

Trump said on Wednesday that he is choosing his presidency over his business empire to aim his focus on being the 45th president of the United States.

Trump is bowing to pressure to avoid possible conflicts of interest between leading the world’s superpower and gaining profit from the private sector.

“I will be leaving my great business in total in order to fully focus on running the country in order to make America great again”, President-elect Trump posted on his Twitter account.

Trump emphasized that while the American Constitution does not compel him to leave his well-doing business to hold the presidency, but he feels that it is “visually important” as a chief executive in order to avoid conflict of interest with his various enterprises.

The president-elect stressed that the presidency is a far more important task for him to do. Currently, the legal documents are now being crafted to take Trump out of his business operations.

When the questions arose weeks after Trump’s rise to political power, he assured that conflict of interest would be the last controversy in his presidency.

In an interview with the New York Times, the business mogul said that he could still run his business perfectly in theory and run the country perfectly – simultaneously.

But if he would be made to choose, he would choose the presidency and just leave his billions of dollars of investments to his children.

Trump is now tapping conservatives with his deep ties to Washington and Wall Street to fill out key positions in his Cabinet as he continues to deliberate over his secretary of state.
