VIRAL – Kathryn Tan love basketball a lot that she never allowed an unexpected incident to shut down her passion to play the sport.
There are people who are really into sports. Their passion to play a specific sport seems to be like a fuel that keeps them going no matter what. However, there are inevitable circumstances which might really test the person in the course of pursuing his or her passion.
That is what happened to Kathryn Tan. A recent news video report in ABS-CBN News entailed the story of Tan – how the unexpected incident happened and how she managed to get through it.
According to Tan, the incident happened when they were riding a mini-roller coaster and some passengers complained that the ride was slow. The operator adjusted the speed and some of them were thrown out.
“Talagang tumilapon kami and then when I landed, nadaanan ng coaster yung kamay ko [We were thrown out and when I landed, the coaster passed by my hand],” Tan shared.
Based on the report, Tan took the incident as another reason to hold tighter to her dream of playing basketball. In fact, she was given the chance to become a member of the varsity in her school which encouraged her to prove that she deserves the spot.
As to her, she doubled her efforts. The support of her family and friends were the cause why she has never felt insecure of her condition according to the report.
“Hindi naman mahirap na gawin yung ginagawa ng iba as long as nandoon ‘yung drive mo to do it. Pag nadapa ka, kailangan marunong kang tumayo at lumaban,” Tan shared.
