According to Beijing, if Duterte shows his sincerity, the Philippine president’s visit to China is a good opportunity to heal the wounds that have tainted the relations in between the two countries.
According to Beijing, Duterte’s visit is a good sign especially in his being pragmatic to foreign relations and international disputes.
“Meanwhile, the trip also serves as an encouraging sign of the president’s pluck and pragmatism on foreign relations and international dispute”, a portion of a commentary in Xinxua, a state agency in China. “Given the positive signs, Duterte’s widely-watched visit to China functions as a litmus test of his sincerity and political wisdom”, it added.
