Although she has not attended, not even heard about the Congressional inquiry, Sen. De Lima has already forgiven the witnesses presented to speak against her.
Senator Leila de Lima was fast at forgiving those witnesses who were presented against her in the Congressional probe on the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) on September 20, Tuesday.
De Lima poured her heart out in his privilege speech on Senate which was delivered concurrently with the hearing on the House of Representatives where six witnesses, also called as resource persons, were presented by the panel.
The witnesses told how the senator was related to the drug trade inside the National Penitentiary.
According to the lady senator, reliable sources told her that some of the inmates at the NBP were forced to fabricate stories against her to pin her down.
This was also the reason why she asked the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) to launch an investigation in this connection.
