Guide on the Electric Bill Computation To Be Prepared for the Payment Due
ELECTRIC BILL COMPUTATION – Here is a guide on how to compute your power consumption monthly and be prepared on how much you will need to pay.
Undeniably, the power expenses take a huge part of the monthly budget of most households. That is because electricity is used in almost every move now and even when all the members of the house are asleep.
When you are lying in your bed, it would be a whole lot comfortable if an electric fan or an air-conditioning unit is cooling the atmosphere. Also, it is advisable that not all lights are off when everyone’s asleep.
These two situations are just a few of the examples of daily power consumption. We may also use electricity in cooking, in doing the laundry, in entertaining ourselves, etc.
Are you one of those who often get surprised everytime an agent of a power provider company would deliver the bill to you?
To avoid such scenarios, you may actually perform some electricity bill computation to get an estimate of your monthly power bill.
Based on an article on Moneymax, there are only(4) steps in computing the electricity bill. Here are the procedure that you may follow:
Step 1 – Find the wattage of the devices, the lights, and the appliances you are using at home. You may find their wattage at the back of the item or in the manual you got when you purchased them.
Step 2 – Get the watts that your devices, lights, and appliances consume daily by multiplying the wattage with the average number of hours that the items are used daily.
Example: 50 watts multiplied with 5 hours daily = 250 watt-hours
Step 3 – Based on the procedure, the next step is the conversion from watts into kilowatts. Divide the watt-hours to convert it to kilowatts.
Example: 250 / 1000 = 0.25 kWh
Step 4 – Compute the monthly power consumption of a device by multiplying the kWh by 30 days (1 month).
Example: 0.25 kWh x 30 = 7.5 kWh
