Multiple Charges To 10 Policemen Responsible For The Controversial Rally Dispersal

10 policemen filed with multiple charges due to controversial rally dispersal happened near the US Embassy on October 19, 2016.

The group of indigenous people who conduct a rally in front of U.S embassy was dispersed by the police from Manila Police District (MPD) violently resulting injuries to some militants. The group of indigenous people called “Sandugo” trooped to the Ombudsman Office to lend support to the injured protesters.

10 policemen, including National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief are now facing multiple criminal and administrative case such as violation of R.A. 7438, B.P. 880, multiple attempted murder, serious physical injuries, unlawful arrest, obstruction of justice, grave misconduct, grave abuse of authority and conduct unbecoming of a public officer.

Injured protesters file cases against Police Officer 3 Franklin Kho, the one who drive police van that injured the militants, Manila Police District; Supt. Albert Barot, Senior Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo, deputy director for operations of the Manila Police District, their ground commander.
