400 Sacks Of Rice To Be Thrown Away In Antique, According To NFA
400 sacks of rice in Antique province intended for typhoon Yolanda victims were laid to be wasted for being unfit for human consumption, NFA says.
Rex Estoperez of National Food Authority (NFA), Western Visayas manager said that the 400 sack of rice are not fit anymore for human consumption and they cannot risk the health and the safety of people so the rice will not be distributed instead, it will be used to feed animals or thrown away.
He also said that some rice that had formed into muddy cakes, will be turned into compost. Last year the sacks of rice were stored in two toilets at the Sports Complex of San Jose.
Those sacks of rice were intended to be distributed to the victims of typhoon Yolanda in the province. Government officials are pointing each other over who is the responsible for the waste of rice.
The misbehavior complaint against former governor Exequiel Javier, former administrative aide Art Teem Gidaya, and former provincial administrator Efren Esclavilla had been dismissed by the Ombudsman.
