Procedure & Requirements in Applying for LTO Student Permit
LTO STUDENT PERMIT – Here are the procedure and the requirements in applying for Land Transportation Office Student Permit.
Aside from the LTO Driver’s License, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) also offers student permits to those who know and wanted to drive but have yet to reach the 18 years of age.
According to the government agency in-charged in the issuance of license and permits, the latter is open for those are 17 years of age. The applicant must be:
- not younger than 17 years old
- able to read and write in Tagalog, English, or any dialect applicable
- physically and mentally fit to operate a motor vehicle
Based on the official website of the Land Transportation Office, there are additional eligibility requirements for foreigners who wanted to obtain a student permit. The applicant must be:
- not younger than 18 years old
- a Philippine-resident for not less than one(1) year from the date of the application for permit.
Aside from the eligibility requirements, the government agency has also set a list of document requirements in applying for LTO Student Permit. The following are the needed documents:
- Fully-accomplished Application form for Driver’s License (ADL)
- NSO Birth Certificate (Original and photocopy)
- Parent/Guardian’s Conset
- Valid ID of Parent/Guardian (Must bear photo)
- Medical Certificate
- In addition, for foreigners, original and photocopy of passport with entry date of at least one (1) month and visa duration of at least one (1) year from date of application, or if born in the Philippines, present original and photocopy of birth certificate duly authenticated by the NSO.
According to LTO, for foreigners, the original and photocopy of the passport of the applicant is needed. It must bear an entry date of at least one(1) month and a visa duration of at least a year.
How To Apply for LTO Student Permit?
- Head to an LTO Office and submit your requirements to the receiving personnel. Have it checked and evaluated.
- Wait for the approval of the Approving Officer.
- Undergo a photo and signature-taking.
- Pay for the required fees for the processing of the Student Permit at the cashier.
- Receive the SP Card and write your name and sign on the Release Form.
